It can be if the right crop is put on it Frank Sharp whose farm is on Bullrun Creek at Halls Gap Road has many different soil types His soils range from class I creek-bottom to class VII steep rough Bullrun Ridge land Sharp recently started work on his farm plan made with Soil Conservation District assistance One of his first projects was to take care of four acres of steep land have had this field in pas-ture stated it js just too step to fertilize now or take care of If it is put in a row crop it will wash In short the field was a liability to the farm Let alone it would grow up in weeds briers and bushes Sharp decided to establish the steep area in a crop which would be easy to maintain earn a profit and improve the value of the trees As a steep idle field these four acres had no himself today a few hours before he was to have married for the second time He was Herman Behn a businessman in this southern Elinoii city for 18 years Coroner Barney Browning said Behn bludgeoned the others with a hammer as they slept then shot them before ending his own life The other dead were Mrs Minnie Behn 70 Linda 14 Shirley 12 and Kay 10 DIVORCED FIRST WIFE Behft-aad Lis first wife June were divorced fou? years ago and Behn was granted custody of the children police said He had planned to marry Mrs Maldetta Minton 38 an employe in his jewelry store this after noon former wife was reported to be Eving in Chicago (Doc) Stutters a close friend of Behn who was to have been best man at a I pm ceremony in the First Christian Church said he had no inkling that Behn was worried or depressed TELEPHONED BROTHER Stutters said he visited Behn in the jewelry store late Saturday afternoon to go over details of the wedding plans As he left he said Behn called see you tomorrow at one Browning said that Herman Behn telephoned his brother William at 7 am today and said "Bill killed mother and the girls Asst Police Chief Arthur Marks said he questioned Mrs Minton a divorcee but she was unable to explain actions Marks quoted her as saying that she and Behn had planned to move into her farm home after the wedding and take the children and mother with them After questioning Mrs
