Obituaries Tribune Pianist Laura Ford Giere dies at age 92 Laura Ford Giere, a concert pianist in the Twin Cities area for half a century, died Wednesday at a St. Louis Park nursing home. She was 92. Giere performed as a soloist, accompanist, and pianist with the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra, now the Minnesota Orchestra. Critics praised her strength and sensitivity to contrast.

She was born 1 in Starbuck, to musically talented parents. Her father was a pastor who she said in a 1960 interview "had 1 a beautiful tenor voice." Her mother was organist and choir director for her husband's churches. Rev. David The Rev. David Bosshardt, 53, pastor of the United Methodist Church in Owatonna, died of undetermined causes Tuesday at an Owatonna hospital.

Bosshardt had been in Owatonna since mid-1991, following a dozen years leading the United Methodist Church in Elk River during a period of dramatic growth. Minister of the United Methodist Church in Owatonna. Died Tuesday, March 30, 1993 at Owatonna Hospital of undetermined causes. Born May 31, 1939 in Faribault. Married Carole Hudson August 25, 1962 in Le Mars, IA. Graduated from Evangelical Theological Seminary in May, 1968 in Neighborville, IL.

He was ordained in June 1968 at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Danube, MN. Received his Master's of Divinity from the Evangelical Theological nary. As a minister he served for two years at Hendricks, MN; four years at Lakefield, MN; four years at Wells, MN; and for 12 years in Elk River, MN, prior to moving to Owatonna in June 1991 to serve as pastor at the United Methodist Church. He also served as chaplain at Methodist Hospital, Rochester, MN. He presently had been chairing the committee on Moving for the United Methodist Conference and was involved with the Caring Ministry Cadre.

He had also served on the Methodist Conference of Ordained Ministers. He had been active in serving at Camp Koronis in Paynesville, MN. He enjoyed bicycling and had participated in many tours, including several of Jim Klobuchar's tours. He had also enjoyed the hobby of constructing survived wooden butterflies. Retired art professor John Youngquist, 74 John (Jack) Youngquist, 74, a retired art professor whose works are in a number of collections in the Twin Cities area, died in his sleep Saturday night at Walker Place in Minneapolis. Youngquist had Parkinson's disease for about three years, said a sister, Margaret Goetz, of Minneapolis. He retired in 1982 after teaching for 21 years at Moorhead State University. Goetz said her brother "did painting, lithographs, drawings, and he won the first prize in drawing at the Minnesota State Fair about three years ago. He is in all the public collections around here." His work also is in the permanent collection of the Plains Art Museum in Moorhead, which did an exhibition and catalog of his work about eight years ago.

He grew up and attended school in the Stewart area, where he graduated from high school in 1938. In 1942 Ansley joined the U.S. Army. After being discharged in 1946, he attended the Dunwoody Institute for two years. On September 25, 1948 he was united in marriage to Betty Cloakey in Eden Valley, MN.

They resided in Spring Lake Park, Robbinsdale, and recently New London. He had been the president of the Peterson Systems up until his retirement. Goetz said her brother "liked biking and skiing and sailing he had a sloop on Lake Superior and he played tennis. He was sweet; everybody adored him. He was gentle and humorous and he had lots of friends." Other survivors include a brother, Robertson, of Kensington, and a sister, Sharlie Remele, of Edina. A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. April 16 at Plymouth Congregational Church in Minneapolis.
