Hello,
I would like to enable ftrace utility for my Intel ECI 3.0.1 (Distribution: Debian11 (Bullseye) , Linux kernel type:Real-time PREEMPT_RT, Linux kernel version: 5.10.140-rt73-intel-ese-standard-lts-rt+),but when I execute these following two commands, a kernel panic occurred.
# echo 'p:ndprobe d_splice_alias inode=%di' > /sys/kernel/debug/tracing/kprobe_events
# echo '1' > /sys/kernel/debug/tracing/events/kprobes/ndprobe/enable
On the other hand, kernel panic do not happen with Debian 11(kernel version: 5.10.0-18-amd64).
So I would like to ask why does a kernel panic occur in ECI? And is there a solution?
Best regards
Bui

Hi,
could you check whether your kernel configuration enables the ftrace, as in step 2?
You may refer to this documentation.
Cordially,
Iffa
