IRENE EVANS SERVICES SET FOR THURSDAY
Irene Evans, 55, of six and one half miles northeast of Edina died unexpectedly following an apparent heart attack at 11:30 Monday night, (January 3, 1972) at her home.
Born January 7, 1916 in Knox County she was the daughter of Virgil S. and Elsie Ann Johnson Doss. On June 6, 1942 at Kirksville she was married to Joe Ray Evans who survives. Also surviving are one daughter Donna Kay Evans of LaBelle; three sisters Mrs. Lon (Oma) Storey of Paonia, Colorado, Mrs. Harrison (Alma) Kent of Ottumwa, Iowa, and Mrs. Boyd (Virginia) Payne of Moiese, Mont., and two brothers, Harvey Doss of Baring and Marion Doss of LaPlata.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter Peggy Jo Evans; one son Leon Ray Evans on July 3, 1950 [this date is apparently incorrect]; one sister Martha Ann Doss and three brothers Otho J. Doss, Galen E. Doss and Raymond N. Doss on May 29, 1971.
Mrs. Evans lived in Adair and Macon Counties until 1948 when she moved to Knox County. She was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at two o'clock in Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina. The Rev. Barbara Barnett of Edina will conduct the services. Burial will be in the Pleasant Ridge cemetery west of Greensburg.
