The Acolyte is the next Star Wars spin-off to hit Disney+ and fans are eager to find out when the entire series will drop.

Following the success of The Mandalorian and The Bad Batch, The Acolyte is the next show from a galaxy far, far away to be released on the streamer.

The prequel, set 100 years before The Phantom Menace, tells the story of a former Padawan who reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes.

But it doesn’t take too long for them to discover that something even more sinister is at play that they have to try and fight.

With the show initially commissioned back in November 2022, the wait is almost over for The Acolyte to begin.

Episode release schedule for The Acolyte on Disney+

Exactly when The Acolyte will make its way to Disney+ does depend on where subscribers are in the world.

For those in the US, the sci-fi series is going to drop its first two episodes on Tuesday, June 4, 6pm PT (Pacific Time) and 9pm ET (Eastern Time).

UK subscribers are going to have to wait a little longer, however, with the same two episodes dropped on Wednesday, June 5, at 2am BST (British Summer Time).

In total, The Acolyte consists of eight episodes and while on its initial release dates two instalments are coming out, this will not be the case for the rest of the show.

Instead, fans are going to have to wait for one episode per week, with US fans getting treated to the series on Tuesday evenings and UK subscribers on early Wednesday mornings.

As long as there are no shake-ups to the schedule, the grand finale of The Acolyte is going to drop on Tuesday, July 16, and Wednesday, July 17.

Even though the out-of-this-world drama hasn’t yet been released, there are already high hopes for its future.

The Acolyte hasn’t been given a season two renewal but its showrunner Leslye Headland is already planning on working on more episodes.

Speaking to Collider, Headland said: "This is my dream job.

“I'm saying three [seasons] because I'm hoping they'll allow me to do that, but if I could snap my fingers, it would just be, this is my job until I retire.

“ I actually can't think of a higher creative or career peak than working on Star Wars.

“So, I really am good. I don't really need to do anything else."

The Acolyte premieres on Tuesday, June 4, on Disney+ in the US and Wednesday, June 5, in the UK.
